The film was released in Australia and the United Kingdom on July 6, 2006, and in the United States and Canada on July 7, 2006. Joining the cast are Bill Nighy, who portrays the villainous Davy Jones and Stellan Skarsgård playing Will Turner's father, "Bootstrap Bill" Turner. Also returning are Jack Davenport as Commodore James Norrington and Jonathan Pryce as Governor Weatherby Swann. Johnny Depp, Orlando Bloom and Keira Knightley reprise their roles as Captain Jack Sparrow, Will Turner and Elizabeth Swann, respectively. The sequel is again directed by Gore Verbinski and produced by Jerry Bruckheimer.
